Teeth Lightening Whitening

All toothpastes help remove surface stain through the action of mild
abrasives. Some "teeth whitening" toothpastes have special chemical or
polishing agents that provide additional stain removal effectiveness. These
products, used in conjunction with proper dental hygiene, will aid in
maintaining your white smile.

Often times, however, people use these products hoping for a dramatic
change in tooth whitening and are disappointed by the results. Unlike
bleaches, these products do not alter the intrinsic color of teeth and
despite some manufacturer claims, most people will only realize a
difference of one to three shades.*

A wide variety of teeth whitening related retail products, such as whitening strips
and kits, are also available for home use. These methods typically will
produce a slightly better result than a whitening toothpaste.*
DENTISTRY SERVICES
The program does not require the use of a mouth tray. This is a one-visit procedure that your dentist will
perform. Rather than having to wear a mouth tray night after night, you will see results immediately. The
procedure is safe and will not harm teeth or gums. The safety of the Rembrandt Program is supported in
more than twenty research studies at leading dental universities.

How does the Rembrandt One-Hour Whitening Program work? The Rembrandt Lightning Gel is a
sensitivity-free, 35% hydrogen peroxide formula that, when activated by the Rembrandt Sapphire or
Rembrandt Virtuoso light, provides instant and dramatic results.

** Tooth discoloration may be the result of genetics, medication, poor oral hygiene, aging, smoking,
certain foods and beverages or a combination of these factors. People with most types of discoloration
can achieve lighter tooth color through the Rembrandt One-Hour Whitening Program. The type of stain you
have will affect how much whitening you will experience.
At Home Bleaching
North Country Dental provides Opalescence Tooth Whitening Systems for at home bleaching that produces superior results.

Opalescence produces faster results than most retail whitening products. Results are often seen after one night. Optimum natural whiteness
usually occurs when the process is continued for a week to 10 days. Our dentists will go over what you can expect for your individual
situation.

Opalescence is proven to be safe. Whitening your teeth, under the supervision of your dentist, has been proven safe in clinical studies over
a period of many years. The primary ingredient in Opalescence is carbamide peroxide, which has been safely used to brighten the smiles of
millions of people worldwide. Additionally, Opalescence 10% holds the American Dental Association's Seal of Approval. There are a small
number of people that could experience increased sensitivity to hot or cold during the whitening process. This is temporary and can be
treated with ibuprofen or another product your dentist may have. The sensitivity will normally go away within the first 48 hours after the
whitening process is completed.

Opalescence offers long-lasting results. The duration of your results depends largely upon you. The results may be permanent. If you
practice good oral hygiene and brush normally, especially after consuming staining foods or beverages, your results could last for years. If
you use staining substances like coffee, tobacco and red wine you may want periodic touch-ups for one or two days every couple of years.

How does Opalescence work? We will take impressions of your teeth that will allow for custom trays to be made for your bleaching
procedure. The Opalescence gel is placed in these thin, comfortable trays and fitted over your teeth. As you whiten your teeth, carbamide
peroxide is broken down and oxygen enters the enamel and dentin. This bleaches out the discolored areas. The structure of the tooth is not
changed. The color of the tooth is simply made lighter.
In-office Bleaching

North Country Dental can restore your smile to its
natural luster in only one hour!

By using the Rembrandt One-Hour Teeth Whitening Program, we'll provide you with a whiter, healthier smile. The Rembrandt One-Hour Whitening Program has been clinically proven to whiten teeth an average** of ten shades in one hour.
Which System Is
Best For You?
You may want to start by speaking
with your dentist. He or she can tell
you whether whitening procedures
would be effective for you. Whiteners
may not correct all types of
discoloration. For example, yellowish
hued teeth will probably bleach well,
brownish-colored teeth may bleach
less well, and grayish-hued teeth may
not bleach well at all. Additionally,
bleaching may not enhance your smile
if you have had bonding or
tooth-colored fillings placed in your
front teeth. The whitener will not effect
the color of these materials, and they
will stand out in your newly whitened
smile. In these cases, you may want to
investigate other options, like porcelain
veneers or dental bonding.

The many options available to you for
whitening your teeth can be explained
quickly and simply in one phone call.
Once you have the answers, an
in-office consultation can be scheduled
and you're on your way to the perfect
smile you've always wanted.
We'd love to make your smile....
